Candice Squires
Meet Candice - she's pretty amazing! She's a registered social worker with a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Waterloo. With six years of experience working in community mental health and community support, Candice has worked with children, adults, and seniors, focusing on mental health and overall wellness. Her therapy style is strength-based and client-focused, and she has a special focus on those who are neurodivergent. In fact, she worked with individuals on the autism spectrum for five years before pursuing her degrees, which ignited her passion for supporting those who are neurodivergent. Candice herself lives with ADHD, which makes her even more passionate about continuing her education and becoming an expert on the topic. She's known for her down-to-earth, sometimes sarcastic personality, warm empathetic approach, and for building strong relationships with her clients. Candice uses evidence-based approaches tailored to her client's needs, drawing from strengths-based therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). During sessions, Candice creates a safe and inviting environment that allows clients to feel comfortable exploring their therapeutic goals and inner strengths. In her free time, Candice enjoys camping, spending time with her black lab Kizer and Brady, and indulging her love of vintage and antiques. She also loves spending time in the tub, where she does her best thinking, as well as being a listening ear for those who need it. Candice is truly one-of-a-kind and we're lucky to have her!
